Student Volunteer Army provides stench-free laundry service
Student army provides stench-free laundry service to residents affected by smelly wastewater plant.
Student Volunteer Army President Sophie Clarke (Tutor in Fisher House) is supporting a new initiative to dry laundry for people affected by the Bromley wastewater plant stench. A door-to-door service has been launched by a sector of society not usually known for their love of laundry.
The Student Volunteer Army (SVA) will use its database of volunteers to pick up washed laundry from the homes of people affected by the smell coming from the Christchurch City Council’s fire-damaged wastewater plant in Bromley. Residents who are affected by this smell can book this free service on the SVA website. The President of the SVA, and one of our wonderful 2022 tutors is pictured here in one of our laundry facilities getting organised with the job ahead.
